The operation was subsequently sold to a new trucking company in 1986"<br /><br />CN's main trucking was Husband Transport based in London ON who were amalgamated with Overnite Transport of Montreal (actually Hull Quebec if memory serves). Toronto Peterborough Transport was another carrier that CN acquired to serve eastern Ontario. They would have held the "rights" to serve Kingston. Husband Overnite held rights over Highway 401 between Toronto and Montreal. Their drivers would meet in Joyceville, just east of Kingston, to exchange trailers.<br /><br />Industrial Archeology is a fascinating topic. I've sketched it to fit my current layout space. Watch for an upcoming post!<br /><br />The dredge Primrose was a fixture on the Inner Harbour for some years. The capsizing was the beginning of its end.
